In The Loop Unit Meeting
May 24 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Topic: Fair for Houston is a campaign to reform the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), which is in charge of allocating billions in dollars of federal funding to thirteen counties in the greater Houston metro area. Currently, Houston and Harris County have nearly 65% of the population represented by this council and less than 20% of the votes. The overrepresentation of small suburban counties leads, time and again, to decisions that harm and underfund our community
Speaker: Alec Ajnsztajn is the policy lead for the Fair for Houston charter amendment campaign. He has been an organizer with StopTxdotI-45, a community group dedicated to advocating for equitable multi-modal transit for over 2 years. Additionally Alec is a PhD. candidate at Rice University in the Materials Science and Nanoengineeing department.
Where: Virtual via Zoom
